A holiday obsession

I have a little holiday obsession going. I've been doing this for years now. One year I knitted endless elf stockings. And one of these years they're coming back. But this year it is still these little trees which sit on wine corks.

I'm not entirely sure where this comes from or why I haven't been able to stop. I only do this at Christmas time but I just keep knitting them even though Emily gives them away any chance she gets and really who needs this many little trees? I might need an intervention. I think somewhere in my head I think I'm going to make a whole forest. Hopefully I'm not ignoring the real forest outside my door. I'm certainly ignoring the other knitted works in progress that are sitting in my knitting bag (then again, who needs seven shawls either? Perhaps the intervention could be to get me to knit sweaters which I could actually wear every day in the winter.)

Knitted trees and a few sneaky gnomes

Then again, these are fun and they make people smile. And once I figure out how to use them in a teaching video I'll probably be done with them.

Knitted tree pattern is Pint Sized Pines by Julie Tarsha. Knitted gnome pattern (knitted here by Sandy Langer) is Korknisse by Manne. Should you have extra wine corks, the links will enable you. They are to the free patterns on Ravelry. If you're not a Ravelry member, it is free to join and I might just mention there is a great tapestry group there.

*HERE is a link to an English version of the Korknisse pattern.
